PixelDocs: Free Private PDF Tools With No Uploads

Sep 25, 2026 • 4 min read

Meet PixelDocs — 12 free PDF and image tools that run 100% in your browser. Merge, compress and protect PDFs privately with no uploads or signup.

I built PixelDocs to solve a problem I kept running into: every free PDF tool wanted me to upload my files to someone else’s server first.

PixelDocs is live at pixeldocs.mayurmalpani.online — 12 free PDF and image tools that run 100% in your browser. No uploads. No signup. No tracking. Your files never leave your device.

In short: merge, split, compress, convert, protect, and rotate PDFs plus compress, resize, crop, and convert images — all client-side, free forever.

Why I built PixelDocs

Most online PDF tools work like this: you upload a bank statement, ID scan, or contract to a server you do not control, wait, then download the result. That file may be logged, cached, scanned for ads, or breached later.

PixelDocs flips that model:

  • No upload endpoints exist. Open DevTools Network tab while merging a PDF — you will see zero file uploads.
  • Processing is local with Web Workers, Canvas, pdf-lib, and pdf.js.
  • No accounts, no email, no watermarks, no daily limits.
  • No analytics. Only localStorage for theme, sessionStorage for dismissed UI state, and IndexedDB that auto-deletes shared files after 30 minutes.

If you have ever hesitated before uploading a sensitive PDF to a random site, this is for you.

What you get: all 12 tools

PDF tools (7)

  • Merge PDF — combine multiple PDFs into one, drag to reorder.
  • Split PDF — extract pages or split into separate files.
  • Compress PDF — shrink large PDFs for email and sharing.
  • PDF to Image — convert pages to PNG or JPG.
  • Protect PDF — add password encryption in your browser.
  • Unlock PDF — remove passwords from files you own.
  • Rotate PDF — fix sideways scans page by page.

Image tools (5)

Start from the homepage or jump straight into a tool — every tool works standalone.

How it works in 3 steps

  1. Pick a file — drag and drop or browse. It is read into memory on your device only.
  2. Choose options — compression level, page range, format, password, dimensions.
  3. Download the result — processed instantly, with one-click send to another tool (for example compress then merge).

No queue. No waiting for a server. It even works well on slow networks after the page loads, because there is nothing to upload.

Who is it for

  • Students merging assignments and compressing PDFs under portal limits.
  • Freelancers password-protecting invoices before sending to clients.
  • Job seekers converting photos of certificates to a single PDF.
  • Anyone resizing screenshots or converting WebP to JPG without installing apps.

Privacy you can verify

Read the full policy at pixeldocs.mayurmalpani.online/about.html . The short version:

  • Files live only in browser memory, never on a server.
  • No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or tracking pixels.
  • Third-party code is limited to static libraries (pdf-lib, pdf.js, Alpine.js, idb) plus AdSense that loads lazily only after your first click or scroll.
  • I will go deeper into the architecture in my next post: how client-side PDF processing, Web Workers, and IndexedDB handoff actually work.

Try it now

Go to pixeldocs.mayurmalpani.online , try Merge PDF or Compress PDF first, and tell me what to add next — unlock history, offline PWA mode, and more converters are on my list.

If PixelDocs saved you an upload today, share it with one person who still emails sensitive PDFs to random sites.

FAQ

Is PixelDocs really free?

Yes. All 12 tools are free with no signup, no watermarks, and no daily caps.

Do my files get uploaded?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript APIs. There are no upload endpoints to send files to.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, or mobile works. Open the tool page and start.

How is this different from Smallpdf or iLovePDF?

Those process files on their servers after upload. PixelDocs processes everything on your device, so private documents never leave your control.
